Stella Aboderin, Actress Loses Husband


Jaiyejeje Aboderin, a frontline entertainment figure and son of the late founding chairman of Punch, Chief Olu Aboderin, is dead.

Jaiyejeje Aboderin, a frontline entertainment figure and son of the late founding chairman of Punch, Chief Olu Aboderin, is dead.

The deceased, husband of popular actress, Stella Damasus, died of heart failure on Friday, December 3, after a keep-fit exercise.

A statement by Mrs. Angela Emuwa on behalf of the family said Jaiye was born on July 16, 1971. 'He attended Holmewood Houses School, Kent; Kings College, Canterbury, England; and the University of Lagos, where he obtained B.A. French.

'Aboderin was the leader of Synergy Band, and founder of Synergy Entertainment Consultants.

'His group's album, One Day, released in 2003, was nominated for the prestigious 2003 KORA Awards in South Africa. He played major roles in the following stage productions: The Game of Wits: G'z-spot; and Po.

'He is survived by his wife, Stella Damasus; two children, Isabel and Angelica; his siblings, including, Mr. Wale Aboderin; Mrs. Angela Emuwa; Mrs. Shalewa Aderemi; and Mrs. Wunmi Tunde-Obe."
